Compound Fluorouracil(Polyphase Liposome) INJ. Q&A
|
| |
| 1.What
is the main concern for choosing Polyphase Liposome for
cancer patients? |
| The main
concerns for choosing Polyphase Liposome are as follow: |
| 1. |
Drugs
with scientific foundation and without toxic side
effects. |
| 2. |
Drugs
with treatment efficiency and are able to kill cancer
cells. |
| 3. |
Drugs
are able to enhance immunity and efficiently suppress
cancer invasion. |
| 4. |
Drugs
approved by SFDA NO. H21023380.
A safe and reliable anti-cancer drug. |
(Polyphase Liposome possess the
advantages above simultaneously, therefore, we suggest
it is the best anti-cancer drug.) |
| |
| 2.When
can Compound Fluorouracil INJ. be used? |
| After
being diagnosed with cancer, the patients can use Compound
Fluorouracil INJ. right away. This preparation can inhibit
the continuing division of cancer and stop the tumor growth.
Surgery and chemotherapy can be used as complementing
therapy. To prevent the re-growth of tumor, it is recommended
to continue the injection for maintaining the therapy
efficiency and ensuring no tumor invasion. |
| |
| 3.What
is the major ingredient in Compound Fluorouracil INJ.? |
| The
major ingredients include soybean lecithin, cholesterol,
oleatis, ginseng polysaccharide and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU).
The first two ingredients are used as the skeleton of
liposome and there are 40 mg of 5-FU in every 10 ml of
this preparation. |
| |
| 4.Is
there any side effect for the administration of Compound
Fluorouracil INJ.? |
According
to our clinical experience of years, there is no significant
side effect. Certain patients have
experienced flush at face and raced heartbeat, which will
relieve and back to normal by slowing down or temporarily
stopping the dropping.
|
| |
| 5.What
are the treatment course, dosage, and administration of
Compound Fluorouracil INJ.? |
Each
treatment course will use 1200 cc (dosage for about 19
days). Please refer to the usage description of each dosage.
The administration manners
include I.V. and port-A drip, both need
to be diluted by 500 cc normal saline. Using
port-A drip can lead to the higher dosage and better efficiency.
Based on vast clinical experience, this
preparation, different to other chemotherapy drug,
has no accumulation of toxicity
or toxic side effects. During the therapy, no patient
has been forced to stop the administration for overdose.
Please re-evaluate after two treatment course then monitor
the efficiency. (It is recommended to have two treatment
courses for general).
|
| |
| 6.Is
this preparation applicable for weak patients (with reduced
immunity)? |
It is applicable for patients with
white blood cell count over 3000. Patient
will have better spirit and physical status after several
injections, as well as better appetite. Since liposome
contains soybean lecithin and ginseng polysaccharide,
these components will be released after injected to enhance
the immunity of patients.
|
| |
| 7.How
can Compound Fluorouracil INJ. suppress cancer cells?
What is the main concern? |
Because
there are two major ingredients here for suppressing tumor
cell.
| 1. |
5-FU:
5-FU is a inhibitor
for purine metabolism and able to suppress various
animal tumors. It can suppress Thymidine synthetase
to affect DNA synthesis. In addition, it can also
affect RNA. |
| |
| 2. |
Oleatis:
Several unsaturated fatty acids (essential fatty
acid), including oleic acids, lineoleic acids, linolenic
acids and arachidonic acids, are included in this
injection preparation. From numbers of references,
it is known that the average amount of unsaturated
fatty acid will be decreased in the most tumor cells.
These essential fatty acids are mainly used for
phospholipid synthesis in organisms and phospholipid
is a critical component of cells, especially in
synthesis of mitochondria. Therefore, insufficient
supply or over-oxidation of theses fatty acids will
lead the mitochondria transform its structure even
to die. In addition, from the literature review,
unsaturated fatty acid is the precursor of PG, which
possess anti-tumor function and is able to convert
tumor cells to be normal cells. |
| |
|
| |
| 8.How
long is the half life of this injection preparation? |
| The
distribution half-life of this injection preparation is
te 1/2=50 hours (note)It is recommended
to start with daily injection for two treatment courses
and then with one injection for every two days. This scheme
will provide stabilized efficiency.Since compound polyphase
liposome injection solution is a slow-released form, it
is preferred to retain in the tumor area longer. Note:
half-life: the time needed for degrading half of the amount
of drug. (The longer the half-life,
the better the efficiency is.) |
| |
| 9.How
to monitor the efficiency of this injection preparation? |
| After
one or two treatment courses of this injection preparation,
patients should return to the hospital for re-evaluation
by routine examinations, such as tumor markers in blood
samples or CT scan. Generally, in the pathological section
after treatment, necrosis, transformation, fibrosis, and
withered nuclear will be observed in most tumors. |
| |
| 10.What
kinds of tumors respond better to Compound Fluorouracil
INJ.? |
| Due
to 5-FU chemotherapy drug contained, this injection preparation
is efficient to cancers at esophageal, lung, stomach,
rectal, colon, and pancreas, as well as for lymphoma,
leukemia, cancers at urinary tract, cervix, breast, ovary,
bladder and liver. |
| |
|
11.What
is the characteristics of Compound Fluorouracil INJ?
|
| Compound
Fluorouracil INJ is a liposome-coated chemotherapy drug
with a targeting system, which is able to directly deliver
the 5-FU drug to the lesion. Only after the targeting
of cancer tissue, the chemotherapy drug can be released
to kill cancer cells directly without harming normal cells
and therefore without side effects occur like the conventional
chemotherapy did. The liposome is a new targeting system
which can enhance immunity as well. |
